Assessment of Performance of in-village Piped Water Supply System, WQMS and ICT based Monitoring of Water Supply in Gujarat
Objectives:a) Assessment of performance of the piped water supply system:
The objectives are to have an assessment as to the performance on various qualitative aspects of functioning of the piped water supply system across the entire state as well as to know the challenges and how those could be overcome.
b) Assessment of the water quality monitoring and surveillance system of the state:
The objective is to know the performance of functioning of the water testing laboratories in terms of number of samples being tested, nature of tests being conducted, use of testing technologies, following appropriate protocols and replicability of results through various quality control mechanism, system of surveillance including the method of collection of samples for testing and dissemination of test results
c) Development of a monitoring framework and an web based monitoring system:
The state needs to monitor the performance of the piped water supply system on a real time basis. The objective is to develop a monitoring framework for that purpose and to also develop an ICT based system once the monitoring framework is approved by WASMO. There should be application of mobile telephony to capture data on a real time basis and there should be dashboard to highlight the key performance parameters readily
